Adventures and Updates

Well, I must say it's been awhile since I was here and updated anything. I'm really not good at this, or much else for that matter, but will try to be better about it in the New Year. Let's see now, where did I leave off.....???? Oh yes, we're here. We're still here! It's been a wonderful couple of months in sunny CA and we're really enjoying it out here. The weather is great, the people are great, and we just love it! For someone that always said they wouldn't be caught dead in CA, I must say I stand corrected.

We took a weekend, soon after the last blog, to go exploring. Our trip started early one Saturday morning as we traveled up the Pacific Coast Highway. Just outside of Malibu, we found a diner on the beach and stopped for breakfast. We watched surfers and boaters as we dined on some great grub. When we went outside to leave, four Lamborghinis drove into the parking lot. Duane was thrilled, as you can imagine. We've seen more high dollar cars in the past two months than we've seen in a lifetime. These are the folks that don't know about the recession - obviously. Anyway, we drove to Santa Barbara, walked through an art show there, had lunch and came home. Along the way, in Malibu, we drive by a restaurant by the road. There were about a dozen Lamborghinis and Ferraris parked out side end to end. Duane had just gotten calmed down from those we'd seen that morning only to have it start all over again as he eyed those racing machines. It was great!

The job is going slowly. Many errors in the drawings have been discovered and therefore has delayed the possibility of a permit. Demo has been done, successfully and timely, but the building part of it will be awhile. Guess that's it other than to say we haven't found a church. We've resigned ourselves to ride around in the truck on Sundays to listen to the EABC cd's Susie is sending.
